- Whether the coast is advancing ( emerging) seaward or retreating ( submerging) landwards
- Submergence of High rocky coasts

Erosional Landform created by sea waves:
Bay:
Nearly circular-shaped surrounded by lands on three sides and one side is open with a larger body. It is created by the erosion of larger areas of soft rocks.
Lagoon:
It is a shallow water body or coastal lake which is separated by coastal barriers that are made up of wave deposits.
Sea Caves:

Sea Caves:
When sea waves continuously strike at the rocks; cracks develop; over time they become larger and wider. By this cave formed on the rocks called sea caves.
Sea Arches:
As the cave becomes bigger and bigger; only the roof of cave remain; thus forming sea arches
Stacks:
Further erosion breaks the roof of sea arches. Only wall-like structures are left; these wall-like features are called stacks.

Sea Cliff:
The steep rocky coast rising almost vertically above the seawater is called a sea cliff.

It is a narrow and long island made up of sand and gravel deposits. Barrier island is the first to defend against storms.
Sand bars:
Unconsolidated material such as sand and gravel is deposited by waves on the onshore line.
Marshes and swamps:
This is one type of wetlands in the marine coastal region, in this region, fine clay material is deposited by the wave and making them one of the most fertile ecosystems.
