Government means governing the people. Government has the power to make laws and take decisions and everyone living in the country has to follow the decision of government law.

- Law is the only way to administer people. Law gives power to people as well as the government to do things. Without law, government and people in daily life can not take decisions.

- People send representatives to form the government by voting.
4. What was the suffrage movement? What did it accomplish?

The suffrage movement was led by women in the USA to demand voting right for all women. By this movement, American Women got the right to vote in 1920.
5. Gandhiji strongly believed that every adult in India should be given the right to vote. However, a few people don't share his views. They feel that illiterate people, who are mainly poor, should not be given the right to vote. What do you think? Do you think this would be a form of discrimination? Give five points to support your view and share these with the class.

I think the same what Gandhi Ji thought. Not giving the voting right to all is one type of discrimination because:
- If the poor and illiterate are not getting the voting right means it is crime for being Poor or illiterate.
- If they are not choosing the representative means they do not support the form of government.
- If they are not choosing the representative means the government has no moral right to enforce the law to him.
- The government will not make laws for the pro-poor.
- It is against social justice.
