Answer.
ii. Genre de vie
"Genre de vie" is a French word and literally means the same is a lifestyle. The French geographer Paul Vidal de la Blanche used the term "Genre de vie" to oppose environmental determinism and support probabilism.
According to Vidal de la Blache, people with different "genre de vie" or lifestyles may have different meanings of their environment, despite living in the same environment.
People's reactions to the environment depend on the "Genre de vie".
ii. Chorology:
Choreology is also called the science of places. Choreology and areal differentiation are two major components of regional geography.
Choreology focuses on the following -
- Study of Geographic phenomena and variation in the distribution of geographic events.
- Geographical phenomena include the study of rock types, lakes, mountains, hills, cities, storms, heatwaves, floods, droughts, earthquakes, etc.
- To uncover the causal relationship between various geographical components and phenomena. For example, we study the relationship between deforestation and floods/droughts of a region under chorology.
In simple words:
- The study of places, regions, geographic phenomena and the relationship between components and the spatial distribution of organisms is called chorology.
