India is a very diverse country both naturally and culturally.
The following are natural diversity in India:
Relief diversity:
India is blessed with all types of major relief features such as
- Hilly areas( Himalayan, Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats, North Eastern India, etc)
- Desert Area( Rajasthan)
- Plain areas( Indo-Gangetic Plains, coastal plains, etc.)
- Coastal Areas( Large coastline)
- Islands( Andaman & Nicobars, Lakshadweep)
Climatic diversity:
- Neally all types of climate from tropical to tundra are found in India.
Vegetation and wildlife diversity:
- India has very wide varieties of vegetation and it varies from Tropical, desert to Alpine.
Soil diversities:
- India is many types of soil such as Alluvial soil, black soil, Red Soil, Marshy soil, etc.
India is a culturally very diverse country in the following ways:
- Diversity in architecture( Dravidian style, Nagara style, etc)
- Diversity in cloths( Dhoti, Kurta, Sari, Turban, Shervani, Salwar, etc)
- Diversity in Food(Dal, rice, Idli, Dosa, sweets, Chhole, Bhathure, etc)
- Diversity in religion( Hinduism, Muslims, Sikh, etc)
- Diversity in customs, traditions( Marriage style is different in south Indian and North India, even custom and tradition changes within North India)
- Diversity in Language( Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, etc)
- Diversity in Arts forms
- Diversity in Festivals( Holi, Diwali, Durga Puja, Onam, etc)
