Pir Panjal Range (पीर पंजाल पर्वतश्रेणी ):
- Pir Panjal Range is part of the lesser Himalayan or middle Himalayan region. It lies from east-southeast to west-northwest in Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
- Rohtang La, Banihal pass, and Pir Panjal pass are important pass of Pir Panjal Range.
- The average elevation of the Pir Panjal range varies from 1400 meters to 4100 meters above sea level.
River Indravati (इंद्रावती नदी ):
- River Indravati is a left-bank tributary of the Godavari river.
- Source of Indravati river is Dandakaranya' ghats in Kalahandi district of Odisha.
- The famous Chitrakoot Falls are on the Indrvati river.
Nathu La Pass (नाथू ला दर्रा ):
- Nathu La Pass is a Himalayan pass and it is located in Sikkim.
- Nathu La pass is a tourist site in Sikkim.
Jog Falls(जोग जलप्रपात ):
- Jog Falls is a waterfall which is in the Shravarti river of Karnataka.
- It is one of the most attractive tourist sites in Karnataka and people prefer to visit there during rainy seasons.
- It is the second-highest waterfall in India after Nohkalikai Falls in Meghalaya.
Pulicat Lake ( पुलिकट झील):
- Pulicat lake is the second-largest brackish water lagoon of India after Chilika Lake.
- Pulicat lake is located in the tri-junction of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and the Bay of Bengal.
- It is home to rich aquatic fishes and birds.
- Pulicat lake has great economic and environmental importance.
Kudankulam ( कुडनकुलम):
- Kudankulam is famous for its nuclear power plant and it is in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.
- Kudankulam has India's largest nuclear plant( total of 6000 MW of installed capacity).
- Kudankulam also has hundreds of windmills for power generation.
- Nalanda district is also known as Biharsharif and it is in Bihar.
- Nalanda is famous for being the world's oldest university which was established in the 5th century BC.
- It is also a pilgrimage and holy site of Buddhists.
Kudremukh(कुद्रेमुख ):
- Kudremukh is a mountain range in Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka.
- It is famous for its wild beauty and tracking.
- It is also famous for huge iron ore deposits.
Headquarters of N-E Railway (पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे का मुख्यालय):
- The headquarters of N-E Railway is Gorakhpur.
- Gorakhpur is on the bank of the Rapti river and it is in the Puruvanchal region.
- Gorakhpur is also famous as a religious center and it is home to many historical sites of the Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Sikh faith.
Farakka Barrage( फरक्का बैराज):
- Farakka Barrage is on the Ganga River which is located in the Murshidabad district in West Bengal.
- The construction of Farakka Barrage was started in 1961 and completed in 1975.
- The purpose of the construction of Farakka Barrage is to divert the water from Ganga to the Hooghly river for flushing out sediment deposition from the Kolkata harbor.
