Give an account of the distribution of mica in India.

Mica is a non-metallic mineral and its origin is inorganic. Mica can be split into very thin sheets that are hard and flexible. Mica is a good conductor of heat but a poor conductor of electricity. Due to these properties, mica is widely used in the electrical and electronic industries to make tools such as electric tools, electric irons, etc.
The following are the mica regions of India:
- The North-Eastern Plateau region includes Chotanagpur (Jharkhand), the plateau of Odisha, West Bengal, and part of Chhattisgarh.
- Mica is produced in India in Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh (the best quality of mica is found in Nellore district), Telangana, Rajasthan (Jaipur to Bhilwara, and Udaipur), Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, and Kanyakumari), West. Bengal (Purulia and Bankura), Karnataka (Mysore and Hassan districts), Kerala (Alleppey), Ratnagiri in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are
- Jharkhand is known as the mica state of India. High-quality mica is found in a belt of about 150 km long and about 22 km wide in the lower Hazaribagh plateau.
- The Koderma district of Jharkhand is known as the mica capital of India. It is famous for ruby mica.
