Arrange the states on the basis of their percentage of population below the poverty line in ascending order.

Answer.
As per the poverty estimate 2011-12 report which was published by the planning commission, 21.92 % of India's population are in below the poverty line. Poverty is not equally distributed over India, some states have very little poverty( Goa 5.09 %) and some states have a very large proportion of people( Chhattisgarh-39.93 %) below the poverty line.
The following are the top ten(10) states in India which has the least percentage of population below the poverty line in ascending order.
- Goa( 5.09 %)
- Kerala( 7.05 %)
- Himachal Pradesh( 8.06 %)
- Sikkim ( 8.19 %)
- Punjab ( 8.26 %)
- Andhra Pradesh( 9.20 %)
- Jammu & Kashmir( 10.35 %)
- Haryana(11.16 %)
- Uttarakhand( 11.26 %)
- Tamil Nadu( 11.28 % )
The following 10 ( ten) states have a high proportion of population below the poverty line:
