Explain retail trading services.
(Class 12 geography, Fundamentals of Human Geography, Chapter-7. Tertiary and Quaternary Activities )
Answer.
Retail service is a business activity that is directly related to the sale of goods to consumers. For example, if you buy t-shirts for your own use or for friends from a nearby shop or online, this is an example of a retail trade service.
There are two types of retail business services:
- fixed establishment or shop
- Non-fixed shop
Ferry, street vendors, trucks, door-to-door delivery, mail-order, telephone, automated vending machines, the Internet, and e-commerce websites are examples of non-store retailing trading.
Nowadays internet has reached almost all people, so retail buying and selling are being done mostly from e-commerce websites.
