According to the India Meteorological Department, the winter season in India starts in mid-November and lasts till February.
Following are the areas of winter rainfall in India:
Due to Western Disturbance, winter rainfall occurs over parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. ,
The average winter rainfall around Delhi is around 53 mm. It is 25 mm in Punjab and 18 mm in Bihar.
Winter rains occasionally occur in central India as well.
Arunachal Pradesh and Assam also receive between 25 mm and 50 mm of rainfall in winter.
From October to November, the northeast monsoon rains over the southern Andhra coast and Tamil Nadu coast.
