Answer.

As of Nov-2022, there are 28 states and eight ( 8) union territories of India.

Area-wise Rajasthan is the largest state in India. The geographical area of Rajasthan is 3,42,239 square km, which is about 10.4 percent of the total geographical area of India.

Area-wise Goa is the smallest state in India. The geographical area of Goa is 3,700 square km.
