Answer.
The economic activities of the country can be categorized into three types-primary, secondary, and tertiary activities.
The following are the differences between primary activities and tertiary activities:
Examples of primary activities are agriculture, fishing, and mining whereas examples of tertiary activities are transport, trade, banking, insurance, and advertising.
Primary activities include all those involving extraction and production of natural resources whereas Tertiary activities provide support to primary and secondary activities.
Primary activities are largely dependent on physical factors like land, soil, and climate whereas tertiary activities are largely dependent on globalization, technology, education, capital, etc.
Primary activities are low values activities whereas tertiary activities are high-value activities.
Primary activities provide the largest employment opportunities( more than 50 percent of the population) in India whereas tertiary activities do not provide as much employment as primary activities.
The country's economy which is based on primary activities [ in the case of India and other developing countries] has lower socio-economic development whereas the country's economy which is based on tertiary activities [ in the case of the USA and other developed countries] has high socio-economic development.
