Lakshadweep island group of India has a coral origin. Lakshadweep island groups are formed by the deposition of the skeletons of coral polyps[ marine tiny animals]. Most of the Lakshadweep island groups are atolls that are formed by coral marine animals.
Lakshadweep islands lie on the Arabian sea and it is on the southwestern coast of India. They are near to Kerala coast or Malabar coast.
Lakshadweep island group is one of the eight Union Territories of India.
