Answer.

From north to south, the Himalayas is divided into three ranges-Great Himalaya, Himachal Himalaya, and Shiwalik range. So Himachal Himalayas is one of the three mountain ranges of the Himalayas and it lies south of Great Himalayas. 

Himachal Himalaya is also known as lesser Himalaya.

It is formed by highly compressed and altered rocks. It is not as continuous as Great Himalayas.


The average altitude of Himachal Himalaya varies between 3,700 and 4, 500 meters above sea level.

The average width of the Himachal Himalayas is about 50 km.

Pir Panjal range, Dhaula Dhar, and Mahabharat ranges are part of the Himachal Himalayas. 


The Pir Panjal range is the most important and longest range of the Himachal Himalayas. Pir Panjal range lies in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.


There is a world-famous Kashmir valley between the Pir Panjal ranges and the Great Himalayas.

Kangra and Kully valleys of Himachal are located in the Pir Panjal range.

Many world-famous hill stations like Mussoorie, Nainital, and Ranikhet are located in Himachal Himalaya.
