( Chapter - 4 Climate, Cass 9 NCERT Contemporary India -I )
Answer.
There are four types of rainfall in India:
South West Monsoon [Summer Monsoon]
western disturbance
Cyclone
North-East Monsoon [Winter Monsoon]
However, most of the rainfall in India is received from the southwest monsoon [summer monsoon]. And the duration of the southwest monsoon in India is about 100 to 120 days, it starts in the first week of June and ends in the middle of September. This is the reason why most of the rainfall in India occurs in a few months.
