Delta is one type of depositional landform that is formed by rivers on the mouth. For the formation of the delta, there should be sufficient sediments on the river channel.
Only big river system form a delta on their mouth, the following are names of a few rivers of the world that forms a delta:
- Ganga-Branhmaptra river( forms the world's largest delta-Sundarban Delta in the Bay of Bengal).
- The Nile river (forms the delta of the Mediterranean sea)
- Irrawaddy river
- Mekong river
- Yangtze river ( Yangtze Delta ) (China)
- Mississippi river ( Mississippi Delta ) ( USA)
- Amazon River (Amazon delta) ( Brazil)
