Question.
What are exogenic and endogenic forces?
( Chapter - 3 Our Changing Earth, Class 7 NCERT, Our Environment( Geography) )
Answer.
Changes on the surface of the earth such as the formation of various landforms (mountains, plains, plateaus, deltas, valleys, caves, etc.) are due to exogenic and endogenic forces.
About Endogenic Forces:
Endogenic forces are those forces that act in the interior of the earth and also originate in the interior of the earth. Some endogenic forces are gradually occurring such as orogenic and Diastrophic forces; Such forces lead to the formation of mountains and continents. Some endogenous forces such as earthquakes and volcanoes cause great damage on the surface of the earth by sudden movements. Orographic, Diastrophic, earthquake, and volcanic are examples of endogenic forces.
About exogenic forces:
Exogenic forces are those forces that act on the surface of the earth. Weathering, erosional, and deposition are some examples of exogenic forces.
Erosion and deposition through various agents such as flowing water, glaciers, winds, and waves create various landforms on Earth.
