(UPPSC GS paper 4 2021)
Answer.
Moral and political attitudes are two aspects of morality that evaluate what is right and wrong.
Moral and political attitudes of humans:
Moral attitudes are the belief and values of which individual acts while political attitudes are the value and principles of society or government or institutions and based on them they function.
Moral attitudes guide individuals in daily conversation and are formed by culture, religion, and personal experience, while political attitudes guide the government or institutions and are formed based on political ideology, social norms, and historical references.
Moral attitudes are based on a person's happiness and internal conscience, while political attitudes are the common value of many people to establish justice, and equality in society [eg democracy and human rights]
Moral attitudes can vary from person to person, while political attitudes differ in different political systems and cultures. For example, India's political attitudes are different from China's.
The present political scenario of India is dynamic and complex due to its vast cultural and geographical diversity
Some moral attitudes such as "Dharma" or personal duties are complementary to political attitude because it helps in establishing social justice and equality.
Some moral ethics such as the superiority of religion and culture or casteism are opposite to our current political attitudes such as secularism and equality that create differences and struggles in society. And it provides the taste and pungency of our cultural and political diversity
