 Question.

What do animals and plants require in order to grow and survive?

( Chapter 1: The Earth in the Solar System, Class 6- The Earth: Our Habitat ( GEOGRAPHY), SOCIAL SCIENCE)

Answer.

Animals and plants are living organisms, and both have different requirements to grow and survive:

Plants require the following things to grow and survive:

Light: Most plants need sunlight for photosynthesis, a process where they convert light energy into chemical energy.

Water: Plants need water to transport nutrients and also in photosynthesis.

Soils: Plants need many minerals that they take from soil or atmosphere, like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2): Plants need Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from the air for photosynthesis.

Appropriate Temperature: Different plants require different temperatures.

Oxygen: While they produce oxygen during photosynthesis, they also require oxygen for respiration.

Animals require the following things to grow and survive:

Food: Animals need food [ animal and plants] of nutrients for energy, growth, and maintenance.

Water: Animals need water for digestion, circulation, and overall bodily functions.

Shelter: Animals need protection from predators, harsh weather, and a place to rest.

Oxygen: Oxygen is essential for respiration and energy production for animals.

Pleasant climate: Most animals prefer a pleasant climate to live in, neither too cold nor too hot.

Habitat: Animals require a suitable environment for their specific needs.

These requirements ensure the growth, development, and survival of both animals and plants. Our earth provides all the above favorable conditions to support life [ both animal and plants].
