Anglo-Sikh wars ( 1845-1849):
Anglo-Sikh Wars were a series of two conflicts fought between the British East India Company and the Sikh Empire in the mid-19th century. Ranjit Singh, popularly known as Sher-e-Punjab or "Lion of Punjab" died in 1839 at Lahore.

Year: 1845-1846

Associated Persons: Tej Singh, Raja Lal Singh, and Sir Hugh Gough.
Outcome: The Sikhs suffered defeats at Mudki, Ferozeshah, Buddelwal, Aliwal, and Sobraon. Jammu and Kashmir was ceded as a distinct princely state.
Treaty: Treaty of Lahore (1846)
Second Anglo-Sikh War:

Associated Persons: Sher Singh Attariwalla, Chattar Singh Attariwalla, and Sir Hugh Gough
Outcome: The British captured the complete Punjab and took the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond.
Treaty: Treaty of Lahore (1849)
